Heritage

There are over 375,000 protected buildings in the UK, and of those, over 90% are Grade II Listed, meaning they are of special interest. These beautiful buildings deserve every effort to preserve them, and Barclay Roofing is proud to have worked on a vast number of heritage projects to achieve exactly that.

By its very nature, heritage roofing is challenging, requiring great levels of skill married with a deep understanding of traditional materials and techniques. If you own or are responsible for a listed or heritage building you will be well aware of the importance of the building’s roof; not only as a means to protect the rest of the structure, but also as a reflection of the building’s history. As such, it is essential that the roof remains as close to the original in structure and appearance.

Barclay Roofing is one of the few contractors properly versed in the methods involved in constructing and restoring heritage roofs. Our time-served operatives are accustomed to working on all manner of pitched roof projects, and our work includes Churches, locally renowned buildings, Grade I and II Listed structures and a great deal more besides. As heritage roofing specialists, we frequently work with local conservationists to ensure that our work is sympathetically conducted.
