Delivered between February and December 2020, Barclay Roofing completed all multi-discipline roofing works on this £12 million purpose designed school for children with special educational needs in Gateshead. Designed by local architect Julia Soulsby, the building features a single-story structure with a complex roof design across 10 different levels using four different roof types. Everyone involved in this project  pulled together to ensure its timely delivery despite working in challenging pandemic conditions. Close collaborative working with main contractor, Wates, who did a fantastic job in steering this massive project to completion during one of the most turbulent times construction has experienced, was essential. Our supply chain, too, pulled out all the stops to ensure we were able to play our part in bringing the project to fruition. The commitment of our skilled workforce and the technical ability of our supervisory and management teams meant we were able to complete our elements to a typically high standard.

We are incredibly proud to have been part of this project, and are delighted that 171 young people now have a truly outstanding school setting that meets their needs now, and for the future.
