Barclay Roofing Shortlisted for Prestigious NFRC UK Roofing Award
Barclay Roofing is delighted to have been shortlisted for a prestigious NFRC UK Roofing Award for their work on Gibside SEN School.
The project, which was delivered in partnership with Wates Construction and a range of other trade sub-contractors, was shortlisted after a through judging process in the category of Multi-Discipline Project over £250,000.
Designed by local architect Julia Soulsby, the building features a single-story structure with a complex roof across 10 different levels, using three different roof types. In addition to roofing, which spanned 4300 sqm in total, Barclay Roofing also delivered cladding and rainwater works, making this a true multi-disciplinary project that played perfectly to the technical skills and abilities of the company’s management, supervisory and operative teams.
Working closely with suppliers and manufacturers including Ash & Lacy, SIG, Sika Sarnafil, Eurobrick and PSP systems, Barclay Roofing completed this project to a typically high standard despite the challenging pandemic conditions. Client feedback was very positive and the HSE reported on our excellent Health and Safety practice.
Esme Flounders, Director at Barclay Roofing said:
“The Gibside Project was a complex and challenging one given it’s size and the range of inputs. However, this played perfectly to our strengths as a team. Wates, along with all of the other contractors and personnel involved work closely to bring this project to fruition despite Covid throwing a curve-ball into proceedings. The staff and students at Gibside SEN School deserve the best, and we’re pleased to have been able to play our roll in delivering it for them.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London of November 5th. Here’s hoping there are fireworks for the Barclay Roofing Team on Guy Fawkes Night!
